IFS Therapy | Internal Family Systems | GPS Therapy™

IFS Therapy (Internal Family Systems)

IFS Therapy is a compassionate, depth approach I offer for clients who feel conflicted inside — torn between different parts of themselves, held back by fear, shame or self-criticism. Internal Family Systems helps us understand why certain parts protect us, while others carry pain, and how we can begin to heal from within.

What IFS Therapy Helps With

Many people describe feeling “stuck in patterns,” “battling with myself,” or “knowing what I should do, but not doing it.” IFS Therapy offers a way to listen to these parts — such as the inner critic, the perfectionist, the pleaser or the protector — without judgement. Rather than forcing change, IFS invites healing through curiosity, self-leadership and inner connection.

How I Work with IFS Therapy

I draw on IFS to help you meet your inner system with understanding rather than resistance. We may explore protective parts, wounded exiles and the growing capacity for Self — the calm, centred and compassionate core within.

When appropriate, I integrate IFS with Schema Therapy, EMDR and other therapeutic approaches I’ve developed over more than 20 years, allowing us to work flexibly with trauma, shame and relational wounds.

What to Expect

IFS Therapy is not about labelling or diagnosing parts — it is about creating inner safety, reducing internal conflict and cultivating greater self-trust. Over time, clients often experience a softening of harsh inner voices, a deeper understanding of emotional triggers and a renewed sense of inner strength.
